Dallas Buyers Club

I would like to preface this review by stating the following:  I hate Texas.  I think Jared Leto is a giant Douche.  Matthew McConaughey, for me,  is hit or miss.

That being said, I found this film to be heart-breakingly entertaining.  Jared was perfectly cast for this role, as was McConaughey.  Both gave great performances and I found I really enjoyed the way the characters developed and how their relationship morphed into something that was both enjoyable and painful to watch.  The film did seem to start slow but as the characters changed you do get sucked into the story.

I did find a couple spots where it dragged a bit and the subject matter is depressing.  Our laws to 'protect our health' while making drug companies rich have never been so ridiculously transparent.  It's a must see movie.

  1. Two things:
    1. I am genuinely looking forward to this movie. I will probably watch it tonight.
    2. If you say you hate Texas that MUST mean that you have not watched "Friday Night Lights". I used to hate Texas and now I love it and it is thanks to that show. You must get on watching the whole series Lady Friend.

  2. 1. Paul and I are in tonight for this. Thank you OnDemand!
    2. "Jarod Leto is a giant Douche" - You owe me a new shirt, I just spit tea on the one I'm wearing.
    3. Be assured Lady Fletcher received the entire diatribe on watching FNL when I was in NY.
